The Ferrari California T two-seat folding hardtop made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show with a new turbo V8 boasting 552 horsepower and 577 lb-ft of torque. Not only is the engine new, but styling inside and out has been given an update.
The headlights have been changed, the fenders now harken back to the pontoon-style found on the Testa Rossa and even the exhaust tips have been refined to present a more streamlined, sleeker vehicle. Inside, there’s a new infotainment system with a 6.5″ touchscreen next to the button-happy steering wheel.
The big news, however, is that new turbo V8 engine which is the first turbo in the Ferrari stable since the F40 back in the ’80s. It delivers 49% more torque than its predecessor while decreasing fuel consumption by 15%. The Ferrari California T posts fuel economy ratings of 26.9 MPG combined.
It’s got a curb weight of 3,813 pounds balanced 47/53 front/rear with a 105.1″ wheelbase, 179.9″ length and 75.2″ width. All this comes with a 0-62 MPH time of 3.6 seconds, 0-124 MPH time of 11.2 seconds, and maximum speed of 196 MPH if you can find a closed track that will let you set it free. Stopping power comes from carbon-ceramic brakes front and rear.
Pricing on the new Ferrari California T has yet to be announced with the first cars slated to be available later this year.
