Daniel Simon has designed imaginary vehices for the likes of Tron, Captain America: The First Avenger, and Oblivion, but this time around he’s turned his design skills towards making a very real motorcycle for Lotus and it’s stunning.
The Lotus C-01 is the first ever motorcycle to wear the prestigious Lotus badge and it’s taken two years of development to make the bike a reality. The gorgeous and very sci-fi looking body is made up of equally sci-fi sounding stuff like carbon fiber, titanium and aerospace quality steel. It looks like it came straight out of Tron save for the missing glowing blue lights and it’s a good bet someone will have those lights added as a custom job.
Although it wears a Lotus badge, they didn’t actually build or design the bike. That honor goes to Kodewa Performance Motorcycles who had a team of design veterans working together along with Daniel Simon to come up with the final design for the bike.
The Lotus C-01, which currently has a prototype but not a production model, boasts 200 horsepower from a 2-cylinder 4-stroke engine. It will be available with a variety of color combinations and there will be a customization service for those who want to make something truly one-of-a kind.
Even if you opt for one without custom work, you’re still not likely to pass yourself on the highway. The production run is just 100 units and they’re set to cost about $140,00 each.
