Buick was founded by David Dunbar Buick in 1899 and was combined with the Buick Motor Company in 1903. Buick built some of the best vehicles on the road and, over time, has managed a few surprises in their (normally conservative) line. Born in Scotland, David Dunbar Buick is a prime example of what makes the United States of America great – opportunity for people with a dream. Buick has been making cars for 110 years and shows no sign of slowing.
I’m proud to celebrate the 237th anniversary of independence and so is Buick. Quite frankly: I like Buick a lot more than I once did. Why? They are using many of General Motor’s European platforms to build excellent sedans. Hummm – bringing something over to the U.S.A from Europe that makes this place a little better? Sounds like David Dunbar Buick AND it sounds like my TFLCar buddies Roman Mica and Andre Smirnov.
I dare say, America is a better place with these and so many other great immigrants – I mean that sincerely.
Buick’s lineup posed three Veranos in front of their Orion Assembly Plant in Orion Township, Michigan. I like these peppy little sedans and dig their looks. I look forward to the next 110 years with Buick and so do you!
