We received these spy photographs of two Ford crossovers running in the wild. These basically look like slightly modified and camouflaged versions of the Ford Galaxy MPV crossover, which is currently on sale in Europe. The Galaxy is a three-row crossover with up to 82 cu-ft of cargo/interior space, or about the same as the current 2013 Ford Flex.
These test mules are showing modifications to the grill and the hood. It’s not clear whether these vehicle are testing a new power-train up front or simply using heavy cladding. In Europe, the Galaxy can be had with a selection of 1.6, 2.0 liter Ecoboost, or 1.6, 2.0, 2.2 liter diesel engines. Ford also has the 2014 Transit Connect on its way to North American sales, so we are not sure whether there is any more room in the North American portfolio for a Galaxy like crossover. Ford already has the C-Max and the Transit Connect, so seemingly the only potential use for this crossover would be to replace the aging Flex.
Please enjoy this fun TFLcar mashup between the Ford Flex and the Mazda CX-9:
