Porsche has a new CEO and he's a top Volkswagen man.
Volkswagen has named 57-year-old Matthias Mueller, VW' its top car strategist, to replace Michael Macht as the top man at the Stuttgart sports car company.
As you may recall from THIS story Porsche almost went bankrupt in an attempt to take over Volkswagen but in the end it was Volkswagen that took over Porsche.
Now VW's CEO Martin Winterkorn is pushing for a different and smaller
Porsche car lineup which would be built of shared VW platforms. Longtime
Porsche loyalist fear that the new lineup would forever change the up
until recently independent brand.
Porsche is the 10th car brand to join the Volkswagen, which itself is Europe's largest car company.
Volkswagen has stated that it is striving to become the world's biggest car maker surpassing Toyota in the near future.
