It only took about two weeks.
But without doubt Jay Leno's Green Car Challenge jumped the shark last night.
Watching the race (see below) was not only painful but awkward and a bit strange.
Do Bob Costas and Al Michaels ever drive themselves is the only interesting question that comes to mind?
It seems like the unlikely racing pair can barely put on a regular seat belt, never-mind the electric car's race belt.
Plus, what was a cool concept on the BBC's Top Gear show (celebrities racing against the clock in a cheap family sedan) has become oh so lame with ping pong cannons and steamers and silly cutouts of Al Gore popping onto the track.
Somebody recently asked on the comments section of the Leno show web site: "This is a green car challenge. Are the streamers and ping pong balls recycled?"
Really, that's the most pressing questions you can think of????
