Thanks to Dimitri’s, TFLcar reader’s, keen eye and quick action, here are some close up pictures of what appears to be the latest 2018 Honda Odyssey prototype.
The minivan wars are heating up with the release of the all-new 2017 Chrysler Pacifica. Chrysler benchmarked the current segment leaders Toyota Sienna and Honda Odyssey when designing and developing the Pacifica. Now, the Chrysler minivan is newest family hauler in the segment.
Competition never stands still. Honda has been testing next generation Odyssey prototypes for a long time. This is the latest iteration of the car caught on the streets of Southern California.
The next Odyssey will likely grow slightly in size and offer a host of latest conveniences that the entire family can enjoy. Details have not been officially revealed. It will likely retain the V6 engine with some updates, and could also offer electric hybrid and/or plug-in hybrid variants. The Chrysler Pacifica hybrid is coming on sale later in the year, so Honda should have an answer to this. You can also expect the next Odyssey to have an updated version of the on-board vacuum cleaner system.
Here is how the 2016 Honda Odyssey stacks up against the Toyota Sienna.
