2017 Porsche Cayenne Platinum Edition adds comfort, convenience, and sportiness [news]

Later this year, Porsche will offer a Platinum Edition of the Cayenne and the Cayenne S E-Hybrid. These will be limited production vehicles designed to have a sportier appearance with features to enhance comfort and convenience. Both Cayenne Platinum variants will come with 20-inch RS Spyder design wheels tucked inside wider wheel arches, leather seating with the Porsche crest in the headliners, and “Platinum Edition” illuminated stainless steel door sills. They will also have Porsche’s Communication Management system paired with a BOSE surround sound system.

Comfort and convenience features for the Platinum Editions will include front and rear park assist, Bi-Xenon headlights with Porsche’s Dynamic Light System, and Power Steering Plus – the company’s variable steering system. Tinted windows and anti-glare side and rear-view mirrors will also be standard. Solid white and black exterior paint at no additional cost will come on the Cayenne Platinum Editions, with optional metallic paint colors including Jet Black, Purpurite, Mahogany, Carrara White, and Rhodium Silver available. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition will also have the ability to program the cabin to be heated or cooled prior to entering the vehicle.

The standard Cayenne Platinum will start at $66,650 and come with a 3.6L V6 that makes 300 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid Platinum Edition has a starting price of $82,650 and comes with a 3.0L supercharged V6 and electric motor that combine to produce a maximum 416 horsepower – 333 hp from the combustion engine and 95 hp from the electric motor – and a maximum 435 lb-ft of torque – 325 lb-ft from the combustion engine and 229 lb-ft from the electric motor. Both prices include a $1,050 destination charge.
