The 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show with a striking design and new “active curve tilting” to improve the ride for drivers and passengers alike.
The vehicle shows off beautiful contours that move along the sides of the car with a more blunted front and rear end. It bears many similarities to the sedan with the three-dimensional diamond radiator grille and large air inlets.
Inside is all the luxury you’d expect and Mercedes-Benz has put a focus on technology. There’s a two-part TFT screen for information like navigation and infotainment as well as an optional touchpad that will let you control multiple functions with just simple finger gestures.
The US version of the car, the S550 Coupe 4Matic, will have a 4.7-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 capable of producing 449 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque paired with a seven-speed automatic transmission. It will also feature a first for a series production car with the new active curve tilting feature.
This will let the car move similar to the way a motorcycle does and lean into corners. Lateral acceleration affecting occupants will be reduced by this feature giving passengers a much more pleasant ride and drivers a more enjoyable one behind the wheel.
Pricing has yet to be announced for the 2015 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe but it is expected to go on sale in the United States sometime later this Fall.
