It’s supposed to be a better handling beast than before.
Ford announced new details for the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R, including some new parts derived from its big brother, the upcoming GT500. At just over $68,000, the track-focused GT350R is currently the most expensive Mustang you can buy. For this new model year, Ford honed in on making it a better handling track weapon.

To that end, Ford fitted the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R with revised front suspension geometry. They also installed a redesigned high-trail steering knuckle developed for the GT500. Finally, there’s a new steering rack and recalibrated electric power steering to inspire more confidence in the corners, says Ford.
Ed Krenz, Ford Performance chief engineer, says the updates “keep [the GT350R’s] performance competitive and on the top of its game, whether it’s on the track or the street.” As before, carbon fiber wheels, a larger front splitter and a rear wing come standard on the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R. Sticking with the exterior, other additions include familiar Mustang colors to the model. Grabber Line and Twister Orange will be available, while Silver (shown above) and Red Hot Metallic round off the available color schemes.
While the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R is more of a track beast, the Technology Package carries over to make the experience somewhat more comfortable. Features like a 12-speaker B&O premium sound system, Blind Spot Information System with Cross-Traffic Alert, Cobra puddle lamps and navigation all come as part of that package. It costs $2,000 extra on the 2019 model, though Ford has not specified 2020 pricing just yet.
Ford did not announce pricing for the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350R yet, either. However, we don’t expect it to move much from the current starting price. See more on the GT350R’s big brother below:
