The Jeep Renegade remains the top choice for buyers in the subcompact crossover segment for the month of July.
The Renegade remained in the top spot for the majority of the year, having sold 10,057 for July. The Chevrolet Trax seemed to gain in popularity from June to July, jumping to number two with 9,466 sales in July, having previously been in fifth place in June.
The change in sales from June to July bumped the Subaru Crosstrek from second to third with 8,480 sales in July. Although that vehicle was bumped to the number third position in subcompact cars, it still sold more vehicles from June to July with an almost 11 percent increase in sales for July coming to 8,480.
The Honda HR-V and the Buick Encore saw little movement from July, with the HR-V retaining the number four position with 7,394 sales, up from 6,567 sales in June, and the Encore moving from fourth to fifth place in sales in July with having a total of 6,923 cars that sold. However, even though the Encore was bumped to the fifth position, it sold more cars in July than June with 6,923 compared to June sales of 6,091.
The rest of the vehicles in the subcompact crossover category remained relatively the same in terms of ranking. However, the Nissan Juke took a substantial hit from June to July, selling almost 38 percent less than in the previous month. In July, the Juke only saw 1,568 sales compared to 2,524 in June.
Another reduction was in sales of the Fiat 500X, which saw an almost 18 percent decrease in sales from June to July. Fiat sold about 950 of those vehicles in July compared to 1,156 in June.
