There is a new luxury midsize crossover in town and it’s the 2016 Buick Envision. It slots neatly between the Buick Encore compact and the Buick Enclave full-size crossovers.
The Envision is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces an SAE-certified 252 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. It’s backed up by a traditional 6-speed automatic transmission. The engine efficiency is enhanced with Start/Stop technology that shuts down the engine at complete stops.
The Envision features Buick’s first active Twin Clutch AWD system. It is said to maximum performance in a variety of road conditions.

Buick compares the Envision to the Audi Q5, but vehicles such as the Lexus RX should also take notice. Buick has spent a lot of engineering time and resources to achieve a quiet interior. We will wait to comment on this until we are able to drive one. However, first impression of the interior materials and fit-n-finish is very positive.
Buick continues its focus on advanced safety and driver aid technologies. The Envision offers a full complement of passive and active safety technologies. They include: 10 standard air bags, available Automatic Park Assist, available Surround Vision camera system and Lane Keep Assist among others. The Lane Keep Assist is available as standard equipment.
