The 2015 Toyota Corolla continues to dominate the compact sedan segment in the United States with a solid 10.1% sales improvement over last year. Its main competitors struggled. Honda Civic, Chevy Cruze, and Ford Focus all declined when compared to last year. The Focus slid from forth to sixth place in sales results. Bad weather across much of the country may be to blame for this.
On the other hand, Nissan Sentra, Dodge Dart, and Mazda3 all grew significantly. Mazda3 was able to pass the Dart for eight spot. However, the best improved compact sedan was the Mitsubishi Lancer with 64.1% increase. However, it’s still in last place on this board.
The other position shuffle had to with the Hyundai Elantra passing Nissan Sentra for forth place, although the Sentra sold more unit in Year-To-Date sales.
