It’s not much of a surprise that the Toyota Camry was best selling mid-size sedan in United States in 2014. It was interesting to watch the Honda Accord gain ground throughout the year, however it’s still over 40,000 units behind. Nissan Altima had a solid year, and a solid third place. Ford Fusion improved and sold more than 300,000 cars in a year for the first time.
There is a sizable gap down to fifth place, which is occupied by a successful Hyundai Sonata that grew 6.5% over previous year. Chrysler 200 is having a resurgence with over 16,000 sedans sold in December. It could actually challenge the Kia Optima for seventh spot this calendar year.
Still, the most improved sedan is 2014 sales were at the bottom of this list. The best improvement came from the 2015 Subaru Legacy at 23.6%, which is in last place. Mazda6 had a great year with a 22.0% improvement.
