OlsbergsMSE (OMSE) drivers had some fun prepping for the upcoming 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship and FIA World Rallycross Championship seasons by dashing through the snow in Sweden and taking out a few innocent snowmen along the way.
The pre-season testing session took place in Kall, Sweden just 200 miles from the Arctic Circle with 81 days to go until the first race and was caught on film. Andreas Eriksson, owner of the OMSE team was in charge of the test and talked about the importance of coaching drivers.
“Everything is about what you have on the track. Developing the car is one thing, but the most important thing is developing the driver,” said Eriksson. His philosophy seems to be working as they’ve won three consecutive Global Rallycross championships as they head into the 2014 season.
The drivers that came out to play on what looks like a frigid day in Sweden were Ford OMSE drivers Andreas Bakkerud and Patrik Sandell. The two put the Ford Fiesta ST rally car through its paces, kicking up plenty of snow in their wakes. They also take out at least two snowmen who were standing just a little too close to the track.
The OlsbergsMSE team will see the start of their 2014 FIA World Rallycross season in Portugal on May 3-4 and then kick off the 2014 Red Bull Global Rallycross season on May 18 in Barbados.
