The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe will be among the first Cadillac vehicles to come equipped with OnStar 4G LTE as well as the Cue Collection app suite when it debuts this coming summer.
The addition of OnSar 4G LTE will provide a faster, more reliable in-vehicle connection than existing 3G systems. Customers will be able to access this improved connectivity through a Wi-Fi hotspot that can handle up to seven different devices.
This faster connection allows for the addition of the Cue Collection app suite which will be available as a standard feature on many 2015 Cadillac models with the Cue infotainment system. It will be accessed through a simple icon on the 8″ LCD touchscreen and can be updated and organized throughout the vehicle’s life. Initial apps will include iHeartRadio, The Weather Channel, NPR and Slacker Radio with more planned for later down the road.
Additional new technology in the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe includes Siri Eyes Free for iOS 6 and iOS 7 users. The will let drivers easily connect their iPhone with the CUE infotainment system via Bluetooth and then use steering wheel voice activation buttons to communicate with Siri. Not only is this easier, but it’s safer since it keeps the driver’s eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.
OnStar 4G LTE and the CUE Collection app suite will be rolling out to the full Cadillac lineup through the second half of 2014 for 2015 models. Pricing and details on available OnStar 4G LTE data packages have yet to be announced.
