Sales results in the midsize sedan segment for the month of January 2014 look bleak. Majority of the vehicles suffered big losses. Some manufacturers blame major snow storms and cold weather for the poor results. Lets hope so, and let the market recover in February.
Honda Accord was the number one midsize sedan in 2013, but it drops all the way to fourth place in January 2014. Toyota Camry showed heavy losses over January of last year (-26.8%), but still grabbed number one spot for the month. It was closely followed by the Nissan Altima, which grew 4.9% and hopped over the Accord. Ford Fusion came is third with a narrow margin.
Further down, Kia Optima sneaked into sixth and ahead its corporate cousin – the Hyundai Sonata. Mazda6 kept most of its p=momentum from last year and gained 47.7% over last January.
