The new 2013 Ford Escape is a very different vehicle from the last generation of the Escape.
Gone is the boxy exterior, replaced by a sexy and elegant and European small crossover.
Of course what we wanted to know right away is just how fast the new Escape with the 2.0L Ecoboost turbo-charged engine will go from 0-60 MPH @ a mile above sea level.
And just as importantly we wanted to know if it can it beat out current small crossover over champ the new KIA Sportage to 60 MPH.
In this fun and informative TFLcar video we put the new Ford Escape to the test to see just how fast it really is from 0-60 MPH.

Here’s some highlights according to Ford:
“The 2013 Escape has an eco-friendly side. For example, there are two available EcoBoost® engines that are designed to be efficient. In fact, the 1.6L EcoBoost engine delivers 33 highway mpg, the best automatic highway fuel economy in its class.* Seat cushion and head restraint foam is derived from soybeans. Carpet in all models is produced using a blend of post-industrial fibers and post-consumer fibers derived from recycled plastic bottles. Even the shape of the Escape and the use of the Active Grille Shutters helps make the vehicle more aerodynamic for enhanced fuel economy.”
