The Motor Mountain USA Utah belt buckle has been found, before the Utah video was even released.
Kevin Rey noticed the location of the Utah belt buckle when he watched the preview video of the Wyoming/Utah/Montana leg of the epic road trip.
Rey is familiar with the area around Bald Mountain Pass, as he’s been a regular visitor for the past 35 years.
“It was quite easy to find given that I know the area around Bald Mountain Pass really well,” Rey wrote in an email to TFLcar. “It didn’t hurt that the sneak-peak episode of WY/MT/UT gave the location away.”
The Arizona and North Dakota belt buckles are still yet to be claimed, and the Nebraska and Montana belt buckles are missing in action. The Nebraska belt buckle was taken but not claimed, as the empty container was found by a TFLcar viewer. The Montana belt buckle is missing. It could have been taken, container and all, by someone passing by, or it could’ve been washed away during a rain storm.
Check out the Motor Mountain USA archives for all stories related to the road trip and for the locations of the belt buckles that haven’t yet been claimed.
