If you were Nissan and Infiniti engineers and you had the 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 GT-R motor at your disposal, wouldn’t you try to get it into more vehicles? Â Or stuff it into any vehicle you could get your hands on? Â Yes, there was the insane Juke-R project. Â However, wouldn’t it be nice to walk into your Infiniti dealership and purchase a four-door version of the crazy GT-R? Â It would be a grown-up family version of the all-out sports car.
Here are a few numbers. Â This version of the motor produces 560 hp and feed a full-time all wheel drive system via a 7-speed transmission. Â The power is split 50/50 front to back and Infiniti predicts 0-60 mph acceleration of under 4.0 seconds. Â We have to believe them. Â Top speed for the sedan is estimated at 180 mph. Â These numbers certainly demand attention from folks at AMG, M, and RS divisions.
Well, Infiniti says that it received a lot of positive feedback on the Eau Rouge concept, but it still has not announced production plans for the car. Â What will it take for them to give it a green light? Â Can you imagine all the modified 1,000+ HP Q50 sedans at your local drag strip?
Here is the insider TFLcar video of the Q50 Eau Rouge concept from Detroit:
