Revamped 2025 Audi A3 Gets Standard AWD, With It and the S3 Both Getting a Price Bump

Audi's entry-level sedans are between $1,500 and $2,600 more expensive, depending on the model

The Audi A3 range now kicks off at just under $40,000.

While it doesn’t have the glitz or glamor of some of the brand’s bigger (and far more expensive) models, the small Audi A3 and S3 sedans represent a relatively affordable way into the brand. That said, these new models are inevitably pricier than before…and not by a little bit, either. In fact, the 2025 Audi A3 starts off at $39,495 including $1,200 destination, which is $2,600 higher than the outgoing model. The S3, for its part, is now at least $1,500 higher before options, with a starting price of $49,995.

So, why is it more expensive? To start, all A3 models now come with standard all-wheel drive, ditching a front-wheel drive option. A3s are now also torquier, with the 2.0-liter engine now kicking out 236 lb-ft of torque (15 more than before) in addition to 201 horsepower. The S3’s turbocharged four-cylinder also gets a boost, now cranking out 328 horsepower (22 higher than the outgoing S3), while the 295 lb-ft of torque is available over a wider portion of the rev band.

Inside and out, the 2025 Audi A3 and S3 naturally get the sort of changes you’d expect with a mid-cycle refresh. Sharper styling, new interior tweaks and some quality of life upgrades like a redesigned center console. Audi says the S3 gets more specific performance-minded upgrades like the transmission mapping and a torque-split, twin-clutch system from the pocket rocket RS3 and a new Dynamic Plus drive mode to sharpen up the driving experience even further. The automaker also tuned the new car’s suspension, increasing negative wheel camper to make the car sharper in the corners with more lateral grip.

Beyond the base ‘Premium’ trim, the 2025 Audi A3 offers up more features with the $42,095 Premium Plus ($1,600 higher than the 2024 equivalent). The S3 follows a similar model, with its Premium Plus trim coming in at $52,395, which is $1,000 more than before. Above that, there’s a fully loaded Prestige model, which gets $800 more expensive at $56,195.

Audi says the refreshed A3 and S3 will be at dealers in the fourth quarter of this year.
