Audi Drops Two-Door Versions of the A5, S5 and RS5 From Its 2025 Lineup

The four-door Sportback models will still be available, but not the two-door variants

While some coupes remain popular, overall two-door sales have fallen dramatically — and Audi is pulling its A5-based offerings.

This week, Audi announced a host of changes across its 2025 model year lineup, from the entry-level A4 sedan to the flagship Q8 SUV. For the most part, the automaker plans to introduce minor packaging changes and some special packages, but what’s interesting among the different models isn’t necessary what’s there, but what isn’t. Namely, Audi makes no mention of the A5, S5 or RS5 coupe and convertible models, and confirmed that none of the two-door variants will make it into the 2025 switchover.

While Mercedes-Benz pared down its two-door offerings by culling the C- and E-Class coupe/cabriolet and combining the lines into a single CLE-Class (not to mention the SL and the AMG GT), Audi’s decision leaves the brand with no two-door options. In addition to dropping these two models, we no longer have the TT model after it bowed out last year, or the R8, which ended production earlier in 2024.

Now, the four-door A5 lineup is sticking around and getting a few minor tweaks for the 2025 model year. The MMI Navigation Plus package comes standard on the mid-range Premium Plus trim now, while the Convenience Package adds rear USB ports and all models get HomeLink garage buttons integrated into the rearview mirror. A5 45 Sportback models get black exterior trim, new 19-inch wheels come standard on the Premium Plus models, and there’s a new S Line package for the A5 45 Sportback Premium Plus and Prestige models.

Four distinct versions of the A5 lineup remain for 2025. The A5 Sportback 40 model kicks off the range at $47,595 including Audi’s $1,295 destination charge. That gets you a 2.0-liter engine with 201 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque. The S Line 45 model bumps the output up to 261 horsepower and 273 lb-ft, while also hiking the starting price to $49,695.

The S5 model, on the other hand, nets you a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 with a heartier 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque on tap. Pricing for the S5 starts at $59,195, though that is for the starting ‘Premium’ trim. All A5 and S5 models break out into three trim levels with an increasing range of features for higher MSRPs: Premium, Premium Plus and Prestige.

Finally, the 2025 Audi RS5 only comes in one ‘trim’, packing a 2.9-liter twin-turbocharged V6 kicking out 444 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. That commands the highest price tag, naturally, at $81,195 before any extras.
