Honda launched the all-new 2016 Civic at the New York International Auto Show, announcing that the five-door hatchback and Type R will be coming to the U.S.

Scheduled to launch this fall, the 2016 Civic will be available with a new, 1.5-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine, which will be manufactured at the company’s Anna, Ohio facility.

For the 2016 Civic, Honda focused on performance and sportiness. Along with the available turbo engine, it will have the option of a six-speed manual transmission. Two performance models will be available, the Si and Type R.

All new Civics will have a longer wheelbase and a lower, wider stance than the current model. The CVT automatic has also been updated for a sportier feel.

Honda is also giving the 2016 Civic a variety of active safety features, including lane departure and forward collision warnings, adaptive cruise control and a multi-angle rearview camera.

The 2016 Civic also marks the first time Honda developed a global Civic in North America.
