Hellcat Engine Exposed! Everything You Need to Know! [Hellcat Week]

hellcat

Welcome to Hellcat Week here at TFLcar, where we are going to take you in-depth in the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the most powerful muscle car ever produced from the factory! In our first installment, we go inside the supercharged Hellcat engine and give you all the succulent details of how Dodge makes 707 hp out of their 6.2L engine.

A twin-scroll supercharger is the big star of the show (which requires 80 additional horsepower just to operate), but Dodge had to make a litany of changes to be able to handle that much power. Also, Dodge straps each Hellcat engine on a dyno and runs a break-in program before leaving the factory to ensure that there are no issues for the customer. 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque are no good if it’s not reliable.

Check out these fun facts and more as we go in-depth and provide you with everything you need to know about the supercharged SRT Hellcat engine in the 2015 Dodge Challenger. Driving impressions are still embargoed, but we promise you’ll have them very soon!
