The redesigned and brand new 2012 Ford Ranger pick-up is the first ever truck to achieve the Euro NCAP safety five-star top rating.

The Ranger scored an impressive 89% in European safety crash testing which is the highest score ever in its class.

Furthermore the EuroRanger also received the highest ever pedestrian Euro NCAP score since testing began in EEurope in 1997.

Which must be fantastic news to potential truck buyers in Europe since they’ll have one of the safest small pick-ups to choose from when they go small truck shopping. Of course Ford truck buyers in North America will only have one option…the F-150 as is not bringing the new Ranger to your local Ford dealership.

“On the all-new Ranger we did more crash simulations than any of our prior programs to ensure that all parts of the vehicle’s safety were optimized,” said Ford’s chief engineer for Asia Pacific and Africa, Adam Frost.
