Dodge says that nobody asked for a 707 horsepower sedan, but they built the 2015 Dodge Charger Hellcat anyway. The company revealed the Challenger Hellcat earlier this year, and (perhaps) Dodge had many 6.2L Supercharged Hemi V8s left over. What to do? Build a bunch of Charger Hellcats!
The 370 cu-in motor has upgraded internals and is rated at 707 hp @ 6,000 rpm and 650 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm. It can do it on 91 octane fuel. The 6-speed manual transmission out of the Viper and the 8-speed automatic had to also be upgraded to handle this much force. Pirelli tire manufacturer must be happy, as their business for PZero Nero All-season tires will definitely go up when the Hellcats hit the streets and smoke and shred them.
TFLcar already had the privilege to drive the 2015 Challenger Hellcat on the racetrack, but what does the Charger Hellcat sound like? And what does it look like in a regular parking lot in a sinister black color? Watch this quick video to get the idea.
