The 2015 Chrysler 200S is the bad boy of the 200 lineup and that makes it a heck of a lot of fun to drive. It might not seem like that description should apply to any version of a classic midsize sedan, but once you have some time behind the wheel, it will make perfect sense.
The 200 is all-new for 2015 with four different trim levels to choose from and the 200S falls just behind the more plush 200C. The 2015 Chrysler 200S has got the whole luxury thing down, too, but it’s the bad boy of the family. It hates having to wear a tie and it has a tattoo hiding beneath that crisp white shirt.
Chrome trim has been swapped out for black accents inside and out that give it a sleek, aggressive look not found in its siblings. It’s also go an available 3.6L Pentastar V6 paired to a 9-speed automatic that has got some serious power with 295 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque.
There are available 19″ hyper black aluminum wheels, standard dual exhaust tips, paddle shifters, a leather wrapped steering wheel, and sports seats with leather bolsters and S badging. It looks good, or rather it looks bad in a very good way, and once you’re behind the wheel, the drive doesn’t disappoint.
It’s strong off the line and powers around highway traffic easily. We drove through twisting Kentucky roads with hairpin turns and plenty of hills and the ride was smooth and quiet with strong, confident handling and sure braking. And it was fun.
The 2015 Chrysler 200S might be a classic midsize sedan, but it hides a bad boy that just might steal your heart.
