TFL’s Top Ten Cheapest NEW AWD Cars to Tackle Winter [Video]

Looking for a new car that can conquer winter without breaking the bank? Check out these ten new models!

Mother Nature can be a truly fickle mistress, at times. Here in Colorado, that’s especially true, as we experience some temperamental weather patterns during the winter months. It’s 65 degrees and sunny outside, and the next thing you know…it’s 20 degrees and you’re stuck in a blizzard. If you live in an area that’s prone to winter weather, you may be looking into a new car that can handle the conditions. Having all-wheel drive can certainly help gain and maintain traction in slippery conditions.

In doing your research for a new AWD car that can conquer the snow, you may notice that you’re spoiled for choice. Pretty much every manufacturer fits at least one of their models with an all-wheel drive system. You can go the cheap and cheerful route, or if you have the means, you can blow nearly a quarter of a million dollars on a new Bentley Bentayga. Today’s TFL Top Ten list is for the former. If you’re looking for a new AWD car that can tackle winter roads and won’t break the bank, check out the video above for the top ten cheapest AWD cars! TFL’s Tommy Mica and Michael Curtis go into detail on each of the ten cheapest new AWD cars and what you can still get for your money (you may be surprised).

Consider fitting winter tires as well!

Of course, whichever car you do choose, please make sure to fit winter tires if you frequently encounter treacherous conditions. When the roads turn to slush and ice, they may well make a huge difference, especially when coupled with all-wheel drive. Check out our most recent test of winter tires at the Michelin Driving Experience in Indiana to see just how much difference they can make!
