The Smart Fortwo Cabriolet is a two-seat topless city slicker [Video]

Looking for a two-seater, rear-engine convertible that’s under $20,000?

No, it’s not an old, used Porsche, but the new 2017 Smart Fortwo Cabriolet.

TFL’s Roman Mica and Test Miles’ Nik Miles recently had the chance to test drive the new Smart and see what it’s like.

The new convertible Smart car has three stages of convertibleness by offering drivers the ability to open the roof three different ways to allow different openness.

The new convertible isn’t much different from the regular Smart car with the exception that it’s a convertible. They both have a 0.9 liter, three-cylinder turbo engine.

Buyers can get a base model for under $20,000 and one with more options for around $25,000.

The new version also has a six-speed dual clutch automatic that’s an improvement over the previous one. Roman and Nik noticed that even though automatics today tend to be quicker, the Smart’s five-speed version tends to be quicker.

What did the interior look like? Was it roomy? What were other parts of the vehicle they liked? Find out by watching the complete TFL video above.
