General Motors chose to reveal the 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible at the Geneva Motor show.  This is a show where most European automakers are flexing their muscles and showing of wild concepts and unbelievable new super cars.  It seems fitting that the next generation Stingray Convertible is also revealed there.  Leave it to the Corvette to show the world that it’s possible to get a fun, great looking, and high performance car that can compete with high-end marks at a fraction of the cost. GM may also be showing that its serious on taking the Chevrolet Corvette to the global market and sell this all American sports car in greater numbers overseas.

Other than the sleek drop-top roof and the roadster flair, the Stingray Convertible is largely unchanged underneath.  It does have some structural reinforcement and rollover protection, but it shares the power train with its Coupe cousin.  Of course, it’s not a bad thing, since 450 hp and 450 ft-lb or torque will make it an instant classic.
