2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S 0-60 MPH Mile High Performance Review

The 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera is all new.

It is built on a new and somewhat larger platform. The so called 991 Series is only the third new platform in the 911’s almost 50 year history.

But of course what we wanted to know right away after finally getting our hands on this iconic car is just how fast it will go from 0-60 MPH @ 1 mile above sea level.

The good news is that the Carrera’s 3.8L engine produces 400 HP and 325 lb-ft of torque.

The better news is that the car is isn’t crazy heavy like many modern cars. The best new…the 911 we tested has launch control.

The bad news is that it is the Carrera S doesn’t have a turbo or supercharger so under tea; world testing at altitude it will be slower. How much slower? Watch this video and find out.
