One of the best small hot hatches you can currently buy is the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. It will do things that cars twice as expensive can’t do. For those who live in northern climates, owners would have to switch to winter tires if they wanted to drive the car all year round. For 2015, Ford will be offering people who buy the Fiesta ST an option for high-performance all-season tires.
One of our trusted dealership sources provided us with access to most of the changes to the 2015 Ford lineup, including the 2015 Fiesta ST. One of the most notable changes was the addition of late-availability all-season tires to the little Fiesta. For die-hard enthusiasts, this won’t change things. They’re already running summer tires in the summer and winter tires in the winter. But for those who might not have the space to store an extra set of tires, or don’t want to deal with the hassle and potential TPMS issues from swapping out, the all-season option might be the right choice for them.
Despite Ford’s claim, all-season tires are a compromise because they have to work in both winter and summer. Tires are essential to a vehicle’s overall performance and safety, and while many cars come with all-seasons, most performance cars do not.
The clip from the order guide was updated on July 1st, 2014 and may see additional changes before the cars hit the lots. One additional change that is Fiesta-wide is that vehicles equipped with navigation systems will receive 5 years of SiriusXM NavTraffic (not radio, just traffic information and weather) with their purchase. Typically, that requires a monthly fee. Stay tuned as we learn more information about the changes to the 2015 Fiesta and other vehicles.
