The 2024 Polaris Slingshot Looks, Sounds and Feels a Bit Cooler…For a Little More Dough

Let's chart the changes for Polaris' three-wheeler

With an upgraded sounds system, new color, wheel and interior options, the 2024 Polaris Slingshot takes on-road flying a step in the right direction.

The 2024 Polaris Slingshot debuts with new options that should appeal with a larger audience. It still uses the same 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that makes 203 horsepower and 144 lb-ft of torque at 6,500 rpm. It also maintains the 5-speed manual transmission or a hydraulically actuated manual, like before.

Some of these upgrades and options are quite welcome as there was room for improvement. About a year ago, I tested a ’23 Polaris Slingshot on the roads of Southern California. It was a hoot to drive, but there were some compromises. One of the more notable areas where improvements would be welcome is its audio system.

New audio, and updated interior options

Sure, the audio isn’t much of a big deal when you’re wearing a helmet, and wind is rushing by. Still, more power with better clarity would be welcome. A 200-watt Rockford Fosgate audio system, which has been tuned to be more powerful, will bounce sound towards the driver, reverberating off the wind deflector.

It will be standard on the SL models and up, with the base model S getting it with an optional package.

There is an option for heated and cooled seats, which should be a huge upgrade considering how exposed you are. There are new top fabric colors as well. Still no doors or proper windows, yet.

New colors, wheels and graphics

The 2024 Polaris Slingshot comes in new colors that include Radar Blue Fade, Gold Rush, and Purple Lightning. Wheel options have been updated and both the SL and SLR can be equipped with a graphics package. In addition, there have been a few exterior design tweaks as well.

Pricing goes up a bit, too.

Pricing starts at $21,999 for a manual “S” (which is about $500 higher than last year) and $23,849 the automatic “S.” The Technology Package 1 brings the manual S up to $24,849 for the manual and $26,999 automatic. The SL starts at $28,149 for the manual, and $29,999 for the automatic.

The SLR Slingshot starts at $31,149 for the manual, and $32,999 for the automatic. Finally, the “R” starts at $34,799 for the manual, and $36,949 for the automatic.

The Slingshot is a real hoot to drive, and kids tend to point and cheer as you go by. It’s also a hell of a lot less expensive than a Morgan three-wheeler!
