Last week, we announced the conclusion of TFL’s first Cheap Jeep series with the 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ. From the point Roman and Tommy bought it out in California, we’ve been making some changes to make it a more capable off-road machine.

Along the way, they drove the Jeep on a 1,000-mile road trip to Colorado, took it up Gold Mine Hill, and documented the changes they made along the way. Check out TFLnow for the full series!

Now, we’ve purchased another Jeep for series 2 of the Cheap Jeep Challenge. This time, it’s a clean 1989 Jeep Comanche that Tommy found and TFL purchased for $6,500. Over the course of the next series, we’re going to document what changes we make to improve the Comanche and make it a capable (and inexpensive) example of the Jeep brand.

If you want a chance to buy our Wrangler TJ from the first series, now is your chance! It has been listed on Bring a Trailer for the past week, and the auction ends today, March 8. Currently, as of Friday morning, the auction is up to $9,000. We’ll livestream the results today during our live show on TFLnow, and announce the final results when the auction closes at 4:30 P.M. MST (6:30 P.M. Eastern/3:30 P.M. Pacific).

Half the proceeds from the auction will go to Colorado 4×4 Rescue and Recovery, a volunteer organization that helps stranded off-roaders in the Colorado Rocky Mountain region, free of charge.
