2018 Jeep Wrangler
Reportedly, the next Wrangler will have three engine options: 3.6L gasoline V6 with Engine Start Stop (ESS), 2.0L turbocharged and direct injected inline-4 with a Belt Starter Generator (BSG), and a 3.0L turbo-diesel V6 with ESS. Power ratings and fuel efficiency numbers have not been announced yet. What is the BSG? Not many details are known yet, but it points in a direction of a mild gas/electric hybrid system.
The two-door Sahara model will be no more, but the four-door model will get a full-time 4WD system. There still will be three trim levels: Sport, Sahara, and Rubicon. The Sport and the Rubicon will be offered in either two or four-door (Unlimited) configurations.
There will a powered soft-top roof option, which will continue to raise the bar on luxurious options in the next Wrangler. Expect the JL to have Apple Carplay, Android Auto, and all of the latest infotainment options.
