Long Live the Manual Transmission – Updated Comprehensive List for 2016

Dodge Dart with six-speed manual

The manual transmission may be a technological dinosaur in the age of 10-speed automatics and dual-clutch automated transmissions, but for many it’s still the best way to get maximum enjoyment out of the driving experience.

Sadly, fewer and fewer cars are being offered in the United States with a manual option. TFLcar is here to help by providing a list of every manual equipped car for sale in 2016.

Following up last year’s successful list, this year sees some models drop out while more are added. Some are gone because they’ve been discontinued; others have had the manual option removed.

The Nissan Xterra, one of the few remaining SUVs with a manual, has been discontinued for 2016. The Scion xB has also been discontinued for 2016, but with the addition of the Mazda 2-based iA and the iM, all of their offerings can be had with a stick shift. Mazda, though, decided against selling the Mazda2 directly, and their 2-based crossover, the CX-3, is automatic-only.

Dodge recently announced a simplification of their Dart lineup, with three models, all having a manual. In fact, the Turbo model appears to only come with a manual based on the company’s announcement.
