Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat to Debut at Woodward Dream Cruise?

Dodge Charger

In Dodge’s attempt to Hellcat all the things, we believe that we will see the next Hellcat at this year’s Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit. Appearing in the Charger, the SRT Hellcat would be the most powerful sports sedan in the world. Expect to see the engine virtually unchanged in Charger application, making 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. Expect all of this power to go exclusively to the new TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission. We don’t expect a manual transmission to be offered, but it’d be great if Dodge surprised us with it!

SRT Charger

As we previously mentioned, Dodge has plans for an SRT version of the Charger that has a supercharged V8 and rear-wheel drive. In the past, Dodge has also put the same big engine in the Charger as they have in the Challenger. It would actually be uncharacteristic of them to not put the Hellcat V8 in the Charger based on past experience.

Recently, Tim Kuniskis was on the radio in Detroit and said they’d be debuting something special during the Woodward Dream Cruise. With the normal Chargers set to be out by Halloween, it would be about the right time to see an announcement of some kind for the SRT variants. Sure, it could be something else, but all signs are pointing to a Charger SRT Hellcat!

We’ll be at the Dream Cruise this year and will bring you the latest. Stay tuned!
