2013 porsche 911 carrera s 50th anniversary edition

Porsche is looking to celebrate a huge milestone this fall at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show on September 12, 2013.  It was at this show in 1963 that Porsche introduced the world to the 911.  And the rest, as they say “is history”.

The celebratory model is based on the 2013 911 Carrera S and comes with the 400 hp motor, Porsche Active Suspension Management System, and the Sport Exhaust system.  This special edition will be available with either a manual or a PDK automated transmissions.  It adds two different shades of grey exterior colors that are unique to the Porsche 911 50th Anniversary Edition.  Also, notice the unique “Fuchs” style rims.  Of course, it cannot do without the many “911 50” badges and graphics.  These are displayed on the rear deck lid and in the gauge cluster and navigation screens.

This 911 looks exquisite and demonstrates what 50 years of continuous improvement can do to an automobile.  It still is the sports car that all competing manufacturers benchmark for performance, refinement, and quality.

Here is to the next 50 years!
