Seven Passenger 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe comes out with Super Bowl Commercial

Super Bowl XLVII is almost upon us.  Oh boy, I cannot wait!  It’s weird to actually say this, but I am excited to see the commercials – especially the car commercials.   Among many significant introductions, the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS and Limited commercials may be the most important.  Why?  Because it’s introducing a seven passenger version of the redesigned 2013 Santa Fe and this is one of the hottest and most competitive segments in the automotive industry today.  This car puts the midsize people carrier crossover segment on notice.

While the smaller five passenger 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport has been on sale for several months, the bigger Santa Fe GLS and Limited are just now being introduced.  You may refer to the bigger Santa Fe, as an “XL” or a stretched version of the Santa Fe Sport.  The two share a platform and the GLS/Limited has a wheelbase that is stretched 3.9 inches and it is 8.5 inches longer overall.  The third row will be good enough for two medium sized passengers, and the sliding middle row should provide good versatility.

The bigger Santa Fe comes with two engine options.  There is the 2.0 liter 264 hp turbo four borrowed from the Santa Fe Sport, and you can opt to the 3.3 liter V6 good for 290 horses.  The GLS and Limited are rated at 25 MPG on the highway, which is lower when compared to the 29 MPG highway of the Sport base model or 27 MPG highway of the Sport 2.0T.  The 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS starts at $28,350, and the top of the line Limited model starts at $33,100.  Competition be warned.  This is a very serious contender.
