The new 2014 Jeep Compass is missing something important.

At the Detroit Auto Show the small compact 2014 Jeep Compass rolled onto the stage without a CVT.

That’s right the new compass goes back to a more traditional Automatic Transmission loosing the CVT.

In this exclusive TFLcar video check out the new small Jeep as it makes a world wide debut with revised design, a new interior and perhaps most importantly a traditional automatic transmission.

Check it out below as the new 2013 Jeep Compass rolls onto the world stage.

Editor’s note: I used to despise the Jeep Compass. When it first hit the road, only highly paid journalists would give it thumbs-up for its “Jeep cashea.” What it really represented was a clone of the crappy Dodge Caliber. I simply assumed that the Compass would follow the Caliber into the junk heap – never to return.

Jeep saw things differently and did a fantastic job updating the Compass (and its brother, the Patriot). They redid just enough to call the Compass “All new.”

Still, it had one crappy thing that did not go away – the continuously variable transmission (CVT). I am happy to say, they ditched that too. Now, we have something to look forward to – a new-newer Jeep Compass. I can’t wait!
