Just look at the size of those exhausts!

We are thrilled to have been at the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray reveal in person.  The atmosphere was electric, the large hall was full of overdressed, overstuffed people, thundering rock-n-roll music, and flickering concert lights.

Yes indeed,  there are bringing back the “Stingray” name for the 7th generation of America’s most iconic car.

The audience yelled, cameras sparked and music reached a crescendo as the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray debuted. It was an amazing experience and a great way to welcome the all new C7. This is a new vehicle from the ground up. It’s lighter, wider, longer and lower than the C6 while still having a generous and beautiful (looking) interior. Every upgrade that could be implemented looks like it was incorporated in the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

We muscled our way through the throng of journalists, dealers and VIPs to get great footage of a vehicle that reminds us of certain Ferraris, Vipers and even a hint of the Nissan GTR. It’s angular, stiff and chiseled while imparting some serious street presence. Any vehicle that has 450 horsepower and produces 450 lbs-feet of torque is worth noting, but we know that General Motors put up insane money to produce the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

Considering the fact that the new SRT Viper, Porsche 911 and updated Audi R8 (among many others) are aiming for America’s sportscar, the changes may be welcome to some. The crowd certainly seemed happy, but I got the distinct impression that not all was well in the Corvette universe. I caught one well liked television personality mumbling something about overusing a ruler… or something like that.

Love it or hate it – the new Chevy Corvette is here. Check out our photos!
