Come on, we know what’s hiding under that sheet.
Dodge has something up its sleeve — or under its sheet, as it were — and it could be a highly-anticipated Widebody. Now, we’ve already had Widebody versions of the Challenger coupe, so it’s only natural to see its four-door cousin emerge soon after. Adding some distinctive visual flair to the mix would make the Charger — particularly the SRT Hellcat model — stand out from its rivals.
We have already seen a Charger Widebody concept, so this explanation makes the most sense at the moment.

Speaking of flair, there’s also a chance this could be a Charger Hellcat Redeye model. That would still bring in the Widebody, but also up the power on the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 found in the standard Charger Hellcat. That means 797 horsepower and 707 lb-ft of torque, based on the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye, further cementing its reputation as one of the most powerful four-door cars around. The Challenger Hellcat Redeye sprints from 0-60 in a claimed 3.4 seconds, so a Charger Hellcat Redeye should put up similar numbers.
Either way, FCA is widening the Dodge Charger’s portfolio with a new model of some sort. A Widebody Charger would provide visual improvements, for sure. We’d also like to see some performance and handling improvements though, so there’s always a chance there could be something bigger hiding under that sheet.
