The 2018 Dodge Demon is causing a lot of buzz in the automotive world. FCA’s (Fiat Chrysler Automobile) sending out quick teaser videos filled with clues as to what the 2018 Dodge Demon is capable of, is marketing genius. Somehow, this ancient platform, underpinning fairly old tech, has seized the imagination of gear-heads worldwide.
The scuttlebutt has it that the 2018 Dodge Demon will generate up to 30-percent more power than the ridiculously-powerful Dodge Hellcat; the vehicle the Dodge Demon is based on. That means, there is potential for up to 900+ horsepower. Others say it will make 775 hp, while others insist on 807 hp.
Before you scoff, remember a few years back when 707 horsepower was deemed “ridiculous?”
Regardless of what the power numbers may be, there is already a controversy over this video. It seems a few viewers think this vehicle is a fake, possibly one to confuse and confound us. They point to the stickers placed in strategic positions on the vehicle.
While our colleagues at Autoblog have seen the same car and came to the same conclusion we did, there’s nothing wrong with healthy debate – except to say, you’re dead wrong if you think this is actually a LB Performance wide body kit. Have a look-see (here).
We will continue to hunt this vehicle, possibly with our very own Hellcat in the near future!
Enjoy the video!
