Kia Soul dominates subcompact car sales in November [News]

The Kia Soul remained as the top selling car for November among subcompact cars.

Kia sold 12,482 Souls for the month. Sales increased overall by 24.3 percent from November 2015 to November 2016, sales figures showed. Year to date figures show that Kia sold 133,341 Souls, which is a 1.2 percent decrease from 2015’s figures.

The rest of the sales figures showed no movement, with the models staying in their same sales spots seen in October. The only difference was in the number of sales each one had.

The Nissan Versa remained in the number two spot, selling 7,930 vehicles. That was about an 18.9 percent decrease from sales figures from November 2015 to November 2016.

The Hyundai Accent remained in the third spot, selling 6,909 vehicles. The Accent, however, saw a 37.1 percent increase in sales when looking at figures from November 2015 to November 2016, sales figures showed.

The Honda Fit remained as the fourth best selling subcompact car with 4,309 vehicles sold in November. The Fit saw an increase of 42.8 percent in sales when looking at November 2015 and November 2016 figures.

Rounding out the top five was the Chevrolet Sonic, which sold 3,082 vehicles. The Sonic remained in fifth place for November. When looking at figures from November 2015 to November 2016, the Sonic saw a drop in sales of 15.6 percent.

Several vehicles saw significant increases when looking at figures from November 2015 to November 2016.

The Toyota Yaris saw an increase of 196.3 percent, the Kia Rio saw an increase of 60.4 percent, the Mitsubishi Mirage saw an increase of 32 percent and the Fiat 500 saw an increase of 18 percent, sales figures showed.

On the flip side, several vehicles saw decreases when looking at figures from November 2015 to November 2016.

The Fiat 500L saw a 58 percent decrease, the MINI Cooper four-door saw a 42.6 percent decrease, the MINI Cooper two-door saw a 35.1 percent decrease and the Ford Fiesta saw a 16.8 percent decrease.
