The refreshed 2016 Chevy Equinox is set to make its debut at 10:00am CST at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show (CAS2015).  Featuring a largely cosmetic refresh, the updated Equinox will augment the recently-released Chevy Trax in GM’s compact/midsize CUV offerings.

The 2016 Chevy Equinox refresh will include a new headlight design with LED daytime running lamps, fog lamps, and a redesigned bumper aimed at modernizing the Equinox’s look. The update may also include a more understated wheel design, interior updates, and a wider grille with chrome inserts.

A new trim lineup will include L, LS, LT and LTZ, a streamlining which eliminates the 1LT and 2LT trims.   Available Side Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert safety features will be featured on LT and LTZ models.

The 2016 Chevy Equinox features a standard Ecotec 2.4-L direct-injected four-cylinder delivers an EPA-estimated 32 mpg on the highway (FWD models). A direct-injected 3.6L V-6 is available with LT and LTZ models and delivers  301 HP and 272 lb-ft of torque. The V-6 engine also enables a trailering capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.
