2015 Volkswagen Golf

Volkswagen of America has announced that the starting price of the 2015 Volkswagen Golf will be $17,995 for the Golf Launch Edition model. This limited edition model has two doors and an increasingly rare manual transmission.

All trim levels of the new Golf Mark VII are better equipped than their predecessors, with standard features including a turbocharged and direct-injected four cylinder as the base engine, standard 5.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with bluetooth connectivity, Media Device Interface (MDI) with iPod integration, standard Automatic Post-Collision Braking System (APCBS), and SiriusXM Satellite Radio.

Scheduled to arrive in showrooms in August of this year, the 2015 Volkswagen Golf Mark VII will come with a choice of two or four doors and two engines. The first is the 1.8L direct-injected turbocharged four-pot, which will be offered in five trim levels and mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed DSG automatic. The second is a 2.0L direct-injected turbocharged diesel that will be offered with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic on the Golf TDI.

Golf TDI Clean Diesel models only feature four doors and will be offered in three trims: TDI S, TDI SE, and TDI SEL. The 2015 Volkswagen Golf TDI S will have a starting price of $21,995, more than $3,000 cheaper than the previous generation Golf TDI.

Volkswagen says that the Golf Mark VII is lighter, more fuel efficient, and more powerful in all trims, engines, and transmission choices than the previous generation.
