If you are a Volkswagen or Jetta fan, this car will be difficult to resist.  We have followed the upcoming 2014 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8T closely, and now we have another piece of the puzzle.  The 1.8T Jetta will start at $18,895 before destination charges.  Still, this will be a fun, practical, and economical sedan for under $20K.  You get a 170 HP turbo engine, a 5-speed manual transmission (a 6-speed would have been awesome, but more costly), and EPA rating of 26/36 MPG and 30 MPG combined.  Don’t forget that this Jetta also comes with 4-wheel independent suspension and disk brakes at all corners.  You get the leatherette seating surface for the base model.

If you want to get more fancy, then go for the SE model.  There you can get a sunroof, premium touch screen radio, leather wrapped steering wheel, CarNet internet connectivity, and more cool buzzword features.  The car with all these goodies comes in at just over $22,000.  This is still a great value.

If a manual transmission is not your bag, you can also opt for a 6-speed automatic at additional cost.
