Fastest car in the world: Bugatti Veyron Super Sport races to new land speed record!

Bug1

How do you improve the word's fastest car, the Bugatti Veyron?

Make it even faster of course.

Meet the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport which just set the new land speed record for a production car record of 267.81 mph as documented by the Guinness book of records.

Bugatti "tweeked' a standard Veyron from 1,001 horsepower to 1,200 horsepower and increased the torque to 1,106 pound-feet to create this Super Sports version.

The first five production version of the car will be made in this orange and black color and shown to the buying public for the first time at the Pebble Beach car show in August.

But if you plan on buying one and taking it for a high speed run, you might be just a tad disappointed as Bugatti is limited the top speed of the Super Sport to a mere 257 mph to protect the tires.

BTW: During the official high speed run on Volkswagen's Ehra-Lessian high-speed oval the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport actually managed a one way fastest time of 269.8 mph.
