The fastest police car in the world is…?

Lambo

Some might think that the fastest police car in the world is the Lamborghini Gallardo used by the Italian Police and recently on loan to the Dutch.

"A Lamborghini police car with a top speed of 202 mph (325 kilometers per hour) was en route Thursday — presumably within the speed limits — from Italy to the eastern Dutch city of Ewijk to be the top attraction at a display of Dutch emergency services," according to the Associated Press.

"Two officers of Italian police, left and right, and their Swiss colleague pose near a Lamborghini Gallardo of Italian traffic police "Polizia stradale", which is told to be the world's fastest police car, at a highway rest area in Bellinzona, southern Switzerland, Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009."

But whatever happened to this Brambus Rocket Police Special?

Brambus
This highly modified Merc was clocked at an incredible 362 kilometers per hour or 226 mph when it was introduced a few years ago.

But we suspect that at a starting price of 348,000-euro ( US $487 ) the car was just a tad too expensive for most European police departments—so the "fastest in daily use" police car title must go to the Italian Gallardo.
