Koenigsegg buys Saab…recent reports suggest remarkable purchase

If the recent reports are true, we're certainly living in interesting times.

The reports suggest that Koenigsegg has inked a deal to purchase Saab from GM.

This would be remarkable as Koenigsegg builds an ultra expensive supercar with about 50 employees and Saab sells ten of thousands of cars around the world with a thousands of employees.

It would be like your local hamburger diner on on main street buying McDonald's.

Of course McDonald's probably does not have hundreds of millions in debt and sagging sales which is something that Saab has in spades.

But according to UPI:

"In Sweden, many think the deal, which includes Norwegian investors, is already signed, sealed and delivered. However, "it's not the done deal that some people in Sweden seem to think it is," the source told The New York Times Friday."

So yes indeed we certainly living in interesting automotive times.
